Silica
Silicosis is a serious disease which is caused by the inhalation of dust
containing crystalline silica. Silicosis is a progressive incurable respiratory

When silica dust is inhaled, the lung tissue becomes inflamed, which causes
it to scar. This scarring is referred to as nodules, and the nodules disrupt the
amount of oxygen which enters the lungs and bloodstream. Some of the types of

In addition to those diseases, silica exposure may also be linked to lung

Silicosis was first acknowledged in the 1930s but it has been known for even
