Denture Creams

Denture Creams are designed as an adhesive to solidify dentures to a person's gums and prevent pain and discomfort.  In most cases Zinc is one of the ingredients of denture cream that can be harmful when used in excess.  Super Poligrip and Fixodent are just two of many denture creams that contain zinc as an ingredient.  Excess zinc in the blood can lead to significant health problems.

Recently, researchers found users of denture creams, such as Super Poligrip and Fixodent, may be at risk for zinc poisoning.  Some signs of zinc poisoning are:  paralysis, weakness in the extremities, poor balance or lack of coordination, pain in the extremities, numbness or tingling, loss of sensation and/or difficulty urinating.

There are also several diagnoses that could result from excess levels of zinc in the blood, such as:

  1. Zinc Poisoning;
  2. Neuropathy;
  3. Myelopathy (damage to the spinal cord);
  4. Copper deficiency (Hypocupremia);
  5. Anemia; and/or
  6. Bone marrow failure.

If you use denture cream and suffer from any of these symptoms, you may be entitled to compensation.  For a free consultation, contact Peterson & Associates, P.C. toll free at 877-DRUG-GIANT.
